River and Valek now live on a different version of Earth, where a whole city of seers and humans knows them from a past life. Complete strangers remember them as friends, as family, as soldiers in the same epic war. For the locals, that past is recent enough to be deeply painful still, but River has no memory of it or them at all.
In their memories, she led them to victory in that war, with Valek as the deadly military leader at her side. They also tell River she destroyed Old Earth to prevent a worse fate from echoing across dimensions.
Worse, it’s not only those on her side of the war who remember her.
When dark beings follow River and Valek to this new world, they get drawn back into that ancient battle too soon, against an enemy harboring a serious grudge. Valek and River find themselves on the front lines without fully knowing the stakes, the rules, who they are, or how to fight an enemy they can’t even remember.

Author’s Note: This was written originally as a serial, and individual books end on cliffhangers as a result. I’ll be releasing parts of seasons within a few weeks of one another whenever possible to make this easier on readers, and also to keep the books at a reasonable length. Thanks!

I also loaded the preorder for the next book in SEASON 02, since I told people I wouldn't leave much of a gap between these. Due to the structure of serials, the books are going to be cliffhangers in pretty much every case, so I wanted to release them close to one another whenever possible, rather than make people wait months and months. It's kind of screwed up my overall publishing plans for the year, but I'll have to make that up to everyone next year. :) Right now, it makes sense to prioritize these since they're already written, even if in a different format than how they went out originally.
Well, and MOSTLY written... these books have had a TON of changes made, the most recent one (that just went live) having the most changes of all (and most dramatic changes so far). I rewrote giant chunks of this, including dropping whole scenes and plot points, adding new scenes, and restructuring areas of the plot to go deeper into the characters and eliminate things that either didn't make sense or were tangents that detracted from the main plot. Because I was writing two episodes a week for over two years on this serial, and doing so alongside my regular writing schedule, it was like one massive (MASSIVE) first draft.
So, yeah, I expected this, truthfully.
In any case, I hope new readers of the story love it, and that "old" readers love the new versions, which I think are much better! It's pretty different in some ways to a lot of stuff I've written, in that it's got a lot of space opera and more direct scifi components, and also just the format from it having been a serial means the structure of the novels is a bit different than how I normally write novels (I don't usually do big cliffhangers like this).
That said, there's some serious crossover with older works going on in the series now! That should be really REALLY obvious by this book, where a ton of new (old) characters are (re-) introduced, and become major players in this new series. I have to say, it's been super fun to write some of these characters again, and to go deeper into some who had been more side-players in the original series where they first appeared. :)
